Celestyal Simplifies Offerings with New Fare and Pay System
Celestyal Cruises is taking bold steps to simplify its offerings in response to feedback from travel advisors and guests. Lee Haslett, the Chief Commercial Officer, acknowledged that the cruise line’s fare structure and multiple drink package options were causing confusion in the marketplace. In an effort to streamline the experience, Celestyal will launch a new, simplified fare system starting next month, with significant changes aimed at enhancing guest convenience and satisfaction.
The new “Celestyal One” fare package will replace the existing “Experience” and “Experience Plus” options. This all-inclusive package will cover the cruise fare, essential Wi-Fi for all guests, complimentary filtered coffee, tea, water, and juice from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m., unlimited soft drinks in the main restaurants with meals, port fees, taxes, and crew gratuities.
Additionally, Celestyal is revamping its beverage offerings. Instead of multiple beverage packages, the line will introduce a prepaid food and beverage wallet called “CelestyalPay.” This system will allow guests to pay for any non-complimentary food and drink purchases onboard. Travelers can choose to add charges to their account as they go or preload their CelestyalPay wallet before sailing. For example, a €200 preload would come with a €35 bonus, while a €1,000 deposit would earn €250 in bonus credits. Guests can use their stateroom card to make purchases and track their balance through the online system or guest services.
This shift to CelestyalPay provides a more flexible and personalized way to handle onboard expenses while also giving travel advisors a chance to earn 10% commission on any preloaded amounts. In addition to the streamlined pricing structure, Celestyal is enhancing its dining options onboard, adding more complimentary eateries. Guests aboard the Celestyal Discovery and Celestyal Journey will now have access to new informal eateries, such as the Greek Deli or Pizza Oven (available on Celestyal Discovery), which will serve meals in the afternoons, along with the main restaurant Thalassa and buffet-style Taverna.
“We’re passionate about high value—whether it’s value for time, money, or experience. So, we’re thrilled to be introducing our new ‘Celestyal One’ fare structure and ‘CelestyalPay’ as a direct response to feedback from our guests and travel agent partners,” said Haslett. “Our new simplified approach offers enhanced inclusions, more choice, more flexibility, and out-of-this-world value.”
These changes will apply to all bookings made from December 11, 2024, for sailings starting on March 21, 2025. For 2025, Celestyal will cruise year-round, with itineraries across the Greek Islands, the Adriatic, and the Arabian Gulf.
In addition to the fare changes, Celestyal Cruises is investing in its newest ship, the Celestyal Discovery, which will receive 47 new cabins, including two Grand Horizon Suites with expansive balconies and 30 newly designed Junior Dream Suites. These additions will be completed by April 2025, with cabins available for booking from December 10, 2024.
Celestyal Cruises continues to see strong support from the North American market, with more than half of its guests sourced from this region. Haslett expressed gratitude for the exceptional support from travel advisors, which he noted has contributed to the line’s strong performance in 2024.
