Chicago kicks off bidding process for first casino resort

Chicago officials planned to issue a “request for proposals” today for construction of the city’s first casino resort, with an opening date of 2025. A property with 500 or fewer rooms offering meeting space, restaurants and other amenities is called for, along with such requirements as diversity in hiring and a 40% effective tax rate.
