Chile’s Aerovias DAP adds first freighter
Aerovías DAP (V5, Punta Arenas) has added its first dedicated freighter, BAe 146-200(QT) N16TA (msn E2089), Skyliner-Aviation has reported. The 32.8-year-old ex-TNT Airways (3V, Liège) quadjet was ferried from Summerside via Norfolk Int’l, VA, Fort Lauderdale Executive, Panamá City Tocumen Int’l, Guayaquil, and Tacna to Santiago de Chile Int’l over the course of August 12-13, 2020, still sporting its American registration. It is due to be registered as CC-DCV in Chile, although as of August 20, 2020, it has not yet been deregistered from the US. Aerovias DAP, which specialises in scheduled and charter flights in southern Chile and to Antarctica, operates one BAe 146-100, two BAe 146-200s, two ARJ-85s, and three ARJ-100s in passenger configuration. According to the Chilean aircraft register, the carrier’s fleet also consists of one Beech (twin turboprop) King Air 100, one King Air 300s, two Cessna (twin piston) 402s, one Cessna 404, one DHC-6-300, and one CN-212. The carrier also operates multiple helicopters and has a fleet of oceangoing vessels, including ferries, supporting its operations in southern Chile and the Antarctic region.
