Chinese airport passed Atlanta as world’s busiest in 2020

After 22 years as the world’s busiest airport, Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport was surpassed in 2020 by Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport. As a result of the coronavirus pandemic, Atlanta’s passenger traffic dropped 61.2%, while passenger volume only decreased 40.4% at the Chinese airport.
