CMA CGM Air Cargo, based at Paris CDG, is significantly expanding its cargo fleet by doubling its order of Airbus A350 freighters and acquiring three new Boeing 777-200Fs. The French cargo carrier has increased its order of A350Fs from four to eight, with deliveries scheduled for 2026 and 2027, signaling a robust expansion plan to enhance its global network and meet the increasing demands of air freight customers.

Additionally, CMA CGM Air Cargo has confirmed the upcoming acquisition of three Boeing 777-200 freighters. The first of these is expected to arrive in June, with the second and third planned for delivery in the fourth quarter of 2024 and the first quarter of 2025, respectively. The first two Boeing 777-200Fs will be operated on routes between Europe and key Asian and North American markets, including Hong Kong International, Seoul Incheon, Chicago O’Hare, and various locations in mainland China. The deployment details of the third B777-200F remain undisclosed.

CMA CGM has confirmed that all new aircraft will be fully owned by its parent company, CMA CGM. Atlas Air, based in New York JFK, will operate one of the new Boeing 777-200Fs, continuing the collaboration pattern seen in the air freight industry, similar to Atlas Air Worldwide Holdings’ agreement with MSC Air Cargo in 2022.

The current fleet of CMA CGM Air Cargo includes Boeing 777-200Fs, operating regular flights between Europe and Asia, and three Airbus A330-200Fs, with two chartered to Turkish Airlines and one serving routes between Paris CDG, Mumbai International, and Guangzhou three times a week.

This strategic fleet expansion by CMA CGM Air Cargo aims to bolster its capacity and operational capabilities across its extensive network, ensuring it remains competitive in the fast-evolving global logistics and air freight market.
