Commerce secretary “pushing hard” to ease travel restrictions
Amid growing pressure to reopen international travel, Commerce Secretary Gina Raimondo said she’s “pushing really hard” to relax travel restrictions imposed by the Trump administration at the beginning of the pandemic. Airlines for America joined a chorus of other business and travel groups last week to urge the administration to adopt a blueprint for a safe reopening of international travel. “It is time, if not past the time, for the US Government to take action and reopen travel between the US and low-risk countries,” said A4A President and CEO Nick Calio last week in a statement.
