Condado Vanderbilt Hotel Completes Major Renovation in Puerto Rico

The historic Condado Vanderbilt Hotel in San Juan, Puerto Rico, has completed an extensive renovation of its guest rooms, suites, and corridors, blending its 1919 heritage with modern luxury. Built by Frederick William Vanderbilt, the oceanfront landmark now features refreshed accommodations, curated artwork, and a new In-Suite Wellness Package.
“This milestone represents both an evolution and a renewal for Condado Vanderbilt,” said Ben Tutt, Managing Partner of The Condado Collection. “We’ve honored the property’s rich history while enhancing every detail for today’s luxury traveler. With redesigned rooms, a unique wellness experience, and Chef Juan A. Peña leading our culinary program, we’re reaffirming the hotel’s place as Puerto Rico’s most iconic destination.”
The 317 rooms, including 100 suites, feature a blend of Spanish Colonial and Caribbean-inspired design with crisp white moldings, soft green tones, marble finishes, and warm wood accents. The renovation also emphasizes comfort and elegance through custom furnishings and metallic highlights.
The new In-Suite Wellness Package, available with a two-night minimum stay, offers Commodore Oceanfront accommodations, private butler service, in-room massage, aromatherapy, herbal teas, yoga mats, and a $200 hotel credit. Guests also receive daily breakfast for two.
Executive Chef Juan A. Peña, who brings more than 25 years of global experience at Five-Star and Five-Diamond properties, now oversees all eight dining venues, in-room dining, and banquet operations, adding fresh culinary excellence to the Condado Vanderbilt’s legacy of refined hospitality.
