Crystal Cruises Orders Third Ship, Expanding Fleet for 2028 Delivery
Crystal Cruises has confirmed the addition of a third ship to its fleet, exercising an option to build an extra vessel after initially signing a memorandum of agreement with Italian shipbuilder Fincantieri in June 2024. This new order follows the original plan for two ships, marking a significant expansion for the luxury cruise line.
All three ships will weigh 61,800 tons and accommodate up to 690 passengers. Each vessel will feature suites with private verandas, as well as accommodations for solo travelers. The ships are set for delivery in 2028, 2030, and 2032, further growing Crystal’s fleet.
In addition to luxurious suites, the new ships will offer a perimeter promenade, Nobu restaurant, a casino, a spa and fitness center, and a family area, mirroring the amenities found on Crystal Symphony and Crystal Serenity.
Fincantieri, the shipbuilder, highlighted the environmental and technological advancements in the new vessels. “This order reflects Fincantieri’s strategy in the cruise ship sector as a global leader in high-tech, sustainable shipbuilding,” the company said in a statement.
This expansion reinforces Crystal Cruises’ commitment to providing exceptional, innovative experiences on board environmentally sustainable ships.
