In a landmark decision, Delta Air Lines has announced the launch of daily nonstop flights from Seattle to Taiwan Taoyuan International Airport, starting June 6, 2024. This initiative marks Delta’s return to Taipei since 2017 and represents the airline’s inaugural nonstop flight to Taipei from the United States. The introduction of this route is not just a gateway to Taipei’s alluring skyline and cultural wonders but is also a significant step in enhancing Seattle’s role as a pivotal global hub. Joan Wang, Managing Director of Global Sales in Seattle, highlighted the importance of this route in fostering both business and leisure travel, and its potential impact on the Seattle market.

Delta’s 90-year legacy in Seattle, dating back to 1933, has seen the airline grow into Seattle’s largest global airline. With over 160 daily departures to 50 destinations, Seattle has become a crucial gateway for Delta’s operations across the Pacific. The addition of Taipei to Delta’s trans-Pacific destinations further cements the airline’s robust presence in the region, joining other key destinations like Incheon, Tokyo, and Shanghai.

Jeff Moomaw, Vice President of Asia-Pacific at Delta, expressed enthusiasm over this strategic expansion. The new route to Taipei signifies Delta’s seventh non-stop international market in the Pacific, reaffirming the airline’s dedication to consistent growth and enhanced network connectivity in the Asia-Pacific region.
