Delta Expands Lounge Network Amid Stricter Access Rules
Delta Air Lines is continuing to enhance its lounge offerings in 2025, with several new openings, expansions, and renovations to its Sky Club and Delta One lounges. The airline’s lounge network has seen significant growth in recent years, including the introduction of its exclusive Delta One lounges in key cities. In 2025, Delta is set to expand its presence in Seattle and other major airports, adding to the comfort and convenience of its premium travelers.
New Delta One and Sky Club Lounges in Seattle
Seattle-Tacoma International Airport (SEA), a critical hub for Delta’s connections to Asia, will soon have two new lounge spaces. Delta will open its fourth Delta One lounge at the airport, featuring a spacious 11,000-square-foot layout and an open-air patio offering stunning views of Mount Rainier. Travelers will access this exclusive lounge through a Sky Club, which will also debut in SEA as a 14,000-square-foot facility located near Gate 11 in Concourse A. The dual opening is expected to take place in May 2025.
Other Lounge Additions and Expansions
Delta will also add a new Sky Club at its home base of Hartsfield–Jackson Atlanta International Airport (ATL), set to open in spring 2025. This new 23,000-square-foot lounge will be Delta’s ninth Sky Club at the airport and the first to open since 2016. Additionally, Salt Lake City International Airport (SLC) will see the addition of a second Sky Club in Concourse B, expected to open by the end of the year. At Orlando International Airport (MCO), the existing Sky Club will be expanded by 3,000 square feet, while Philadelphia International Airport (PHL) will see a 2,000-square-foot Sky Club expansion.
Stricter Lounge Access Policies Starting February 1
Along with the expansion, Delta is tightening access to its lounges. Starting February 1, 2025, the unlimited lounge access offered to SkyMiles members with American Express credit cards will end. Instead, Delta SkyMiles Reserve and Reserve Business cardholders will receive 15 Sky Club visits per year if flying a fare class other than basic economy, while Platinum cardholders will be limited to 10 visits annually. These changes come after earlier, more restrictive proposals were revised following feedback from members. While the new rules still provide access, they mark a shift from the more generous past offerings.
As Delta continues to grow its lounge network, passengers can look forward to more luxurious spaces and services, though access will be more limited for some members starting in 2025.
