Delta flight to Amsterdam was diverted to Boston due to an unruly passenger
Delta Air Lines has reported that one of its flights from Detroit to Amsterdam was diverted to Boston due to an unruly passenger onboard.
Flight DL 134 was met by law enforcement after landing at Boston Logan International Airport at around 9 p.m. on Friday, and the passenger was removed from the aircraft.
The flight, an Airbus A330-300, had 282 passengers and crew onboard and continued its journey to Amsterdam, arriving over three hours behind schedule.
The airline has issued a statement apologizing to passengers and crew members for the delay caused by the incident and stating that they have a zero-tolerance policy towards unruly behavior on their flights. Delta did not provide details regarding the nature of the passenger’s disruptive behavior but emphasized that such diversions are standard procedure under similar circumstances.
The Massachusetts Port Authority, which manages the airport, referred queries about the incident to the state police, who confirmed on Sunday that they had no information about the case.
