Delta, JetBlue ban emotional support animals

Delta and JetBlue will allow only trained dogs to fly in aircraft cabins as service animals, joining American and Alaska Airlines in adopting policies which allow “emotional support animals” to travel in cabins only if they meet the criteria to fly as pets and their owners pay for it. “Delta’s updated policy follows a nearly 85 percent increase in animal incidents since 2016, including urination, defecation and biting,” said Delta executive David Garrison, adding that the “top priority is the health, safety and comfort of Delta customers and our people.”
