According to court documents, a Delta Air Lines first-class passenger, David Alan Burk, aged 61 from Texas, was arrested for allegedly becoming intoxicated, forcibly kissing a male flight attendant, and breaking a tray with plates containing the captain’s in-flight meal onboard flight DL 517 from Minneapolis-St Paul International Airport to Ted Stevens Anchorage International Airport on April 10, 2023.

The affidavit revealed that Burk asked for red wine before the flight took off, but the flight attendant said he “ran out of time” to serve Burk his drink, leading Burk to become “snippy.” The flight attendant later served him the red wine after takeoff. Burk allegedly grabbed the attendant and kissed him on the neck while requesting a kiss.

The flight attendant reported the incident to other crew members and did not want to return to the front of the plane until Burk returned to his seat. Burk was accused of breaking the tray and plates containing the captain’s meal after the incident.

Burk was arrested and denied the incident when interviewed by police. Delta Air Lines stated that they have “no tolerance for inappropriate behavior” and are cooperating with law enforcement.
