Delta Air Lines will launch new daily seasonal nonstop flights between Accra, Ghana, and Atlanta, Georgia, beginning December 1. The service will be operated with the airline’s modern Airbus A330-900neo aircraft, offering passengers an enhanced travel experience with improved fuel efficiency, advanced cabin comfort, and expanded in-flight entertainment options.

The new route coincides with Delta’s 100th anniversary and reflects the airline’s ongoing investment in West Africa, where it has maintained a strong presence for nearly two decades. The Accra–Atlanta connection will complement Delta’s existing year-round service between Accra and New York’s John F. Kennedy International Airport, giving travelers more flexibility and connectivity options during the busy winter travel season.

According to Delta, the route is designed to meet peak travel demand between the United States and Ghana, particularly among business travelers, leisure passengers, and members of the Ghanaian diaspora. The seasonal service will operate through the end of March 2026, providing convenient access to Delta’s extensive U.S. and global network via Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport, the world’s busiest airport and the airline’s primary hub.

“Ghana continues to be one of Delta’s most important markets in Africa,” a company spokesperson said. “This new seasonal service underscores our long-term commitment to connecting Ghana with more destinations across the United States while delivering world-class comfort and reliability.”

The introduction of the A330-900neo on the route also marks an upgrade in onboard experience. The aircraft features Delta One Suites, Premium Select, Delta Comfort+, and Main Cabin seating, along with high-speed Wi-Fi and personalized entertainment at every seat. The aircraft’s advanced fuel efficiency aligns with Delta’s sustainability goals and supports its commitment to reducing carbon emissions.

Delta first began service to Ghana in 2006 and has since carried more than 1.5 million passengers between the U.S. and Accra. The addition of the Atlanta route strengthens Delta’s transatlantic network and highlights growing U.S.–Ghana travel demand driven by tourism, business ties, and cultural connections.

With this expansion, Delta solidifies its position as the leading U.S. carrier serving West Africa, providing travelers with greater access to two major American gateways—Atlanta and New York—and reinforcing its role as a bridge between the African continent and North America.
