Star Air (Denmark) (SRR, Copenhagen Kastrup) has secured a B767-200 freighter from Air Transport Services Group with service-entry set for 2022, the US holding’s president and chief executive, Rich Corrado, has revealed.

Placement for the five-year dry-lease will come via ATSG’s Cargo Aircraft Management subsidiary, he said during a recent earnings call without disclosing the exact variant.

“We’re also deploying three returned B767-200 freighters this year under five-year leases to Raya Airways (TH, Kuala Lumpur Subang), Star Air, and SkyTaxi (Poland) (TE, Wroclaw). We’re currently stacked with orders for customers who want to lease freighters from us as soon as we can get them,” he said.

Given soaring demand for global air freight uplift, the Maersk-owned Danish cargo carrier alluded to plans to grow its fleet earlier this year but declined to into specifics.

The ch-aviation fleets advanced module shows that Star Air operates 14 aircraft, including five B767-200(ERBDSF)s, six B767-200(PC)s, one B767-300(ERBDSF), and two B767-300Fs. With the exception of two -200(PC)s which are owned, all of the jets are leased from GECAS.
