Dertour Group Finalizes Acquisition of Hotelplan Group Brands

Dertour Group, a leading European travel conglomerate, has acquired the remaining brands of Hotelplan Group from retail giant Migros for an undisclosed sum. The acquisition strengthens Dertour’s presence in key markets, including the United Kingdom, Switzerland, and Germany.
The deal includes four Hotelplan Group brands: Hotelplan Suisse, Hotelplan Volume Tour Operating, Hotelplan U.K., and Hotelplan Business Travel. This follows HomeToGo’s recent $150 million acquisition of Interhome, another Hotelplan brand. The transaction is pending regulatory approval.
“We are excited to integrate Hotelplan Group’s strong travel brands into our network, bringing growth opportunities for employees, guests, and partners,” said Ingo Burmester, CEO of Central Europe for Dertour Group. “As part of the REWE Group, we share common values such as customer experience, personalized service, and sustainability.”
Dertour confirmed that planned trips and operations will continue as usual. Hotelplan employees will transition to Dertour Group upon completion of the acquisition, gaining access to the company’s global partner network and expanded offerings.
“In today’s tourism landscape, advanced IT systems for reservations, bookings, and operations are crucial. We have made significant investments in this area, which will benefit Hotelplan’s brands and enhance our scalability,” said Leif Vase Larsen, CEO for international business at Dertour Group.
The acquisition positions Dertour Group as a stronger competitor in the European travel market, leveraging technology and an expanded portfolio to enhance customer experience and business operations.
