Deucalion Expands A330 Portfolio With Wamos Lease

Deucalion Aviation has acquired three Airbus A330 widebody aircraft currently on lease to Spanish carrier Wamos Air, further strengthening its managed portfolio in the mid-life widebody segment.
The Ireland-based lessor acted as arranger and servicer for the transaction on behalf of institutional investors. Financial terms were not disclosed. The aircraft are powered by Rolls-Royce Trent engines and were sourced through Deucalion’s global origination network.
The deal underscores Deucalion’s strategic focus on mid- to end-of-life widebody aircraft that offer durable lease structures and long-term asset flexibility. By targeting aircraft with established operational histories and stable lessee relationships, the company aims to generate consistent returns while maintaining optionality for future transitions or remarketing.
With this acquisition, Deucalion expands its managed Airbus A330 portfolio, reinforcing its position in a segment that continues to see demand for passenger and charter operations. The A330 remains widely used for long-haul, high-density, and ACMI services, making it attractive to airlines seeking cost-effective widebody lift.
Nate Riggs, Chief Commercial Officer of Deucalion Aviation, said the transaction demonstrates the company’s ability to originate and execute multi-aircraft acquisitions in the mid-life widebody market. He emphasized that Deucalion focuses not only on identifying relative value opportunities but also on actively managing aircraft through their lifecycle, including lease transitions, extensions and end-of-life strategies.
Karl Trowbridge, Chief Operating Officer, added that mid- to end-of-life aircraft require intensive technical oversight, detailed lease compliance management and proactive transition planning to preserve and enhance asset value. He noted that Deucalion’s platform integrates sourcing discipline with operational execution, allowing it to navigate market cycles effectively while delivering outcomes for its capital partners.
The transaction reflects continued investor interest in seasoned widebody assets, particularly as airlines balance fleet renewal plans with near-term capacity needs. For lessors, the Airbus A330 offers operational versatility and a broad secondary market, supporting leasing and remarketing strategies across multiple regions.
By combining origination expertise with active servicing capabilities, Deucalion continues to position itself as a specialist platform focused on complex widebody asset management in the global aviation leasing market.
