Deutsche Aircraft Secures LOI for Four Do328eco Regional Turboprops
Deutsche Aircraft has inked a Letter of Intent (LOI) with an undisclosed customer for the purchase of four new-generation regional turboprops, the Do328-100eco. While specific details about the customer remain confidential, Deutsche Aircraft disclosed that the intended use of the Do328eco is to replace the customer’s aging turboprop fleet.
The Do328eco, an extended and modernized variant of the Do328-100, incorporates several enhancements, including a new integrated avionics system, Pratt & Whitney Canada PW127XT-S engines certified for sustainable aviation fuels, and an updated cabin design with increased headroom to accommodate up to 43 passengers. Private Wings has also expressed interest in the Do328eco, with a non-binding commitment to add five of these advanced turboprops to its fleet.
Deutsche Aircraft aims to commence flight testing of the Do328eco in 2024, with a tentative service entry date set for 2026. The aircraft’s design and features position it as an attractive option for operators looking to upgrade and modernize their regional turboprop fleets.
As the aviation industry continues to emphasize sustainability and efficiency, the commitment to sustainable aviation fuels in the PW127XT-S engines aligns with global efforts to reduce the environmental impact of air travel. Deutsche Aircraft’s successful LOI further underscores the growing demand for advanced and environmentally conscious regional aircraft solutions.
Industry observers are keenly watching the development of the Do328eco and its adoption by regional operators, anticipating its impact on regional air travel with improved performance, fuel efficiency, and passenger experience.
