If the Galápagos Islands have long been on your travel bucket list, now is the perfect time to plan your visit with AdventureSmith Explorations. The small-ship cruise line is enhancing the Galápagos experience with an array of new vessels and exclusive adventures that cater to all types of travelers.

Todd Smith, founder and president of AdventureSmith Explorations, highlights the current surge in new or renovated ships in the region, particularly within the luxury segment. “This is an exciting time to plan travel to the Galápagos Islands,” Smith says. “After a multi-year lull, we’re witnessing a significant boom in new offerings.”

For those eager to explore the Galápagos this year, several new ships are now available. The Cormorant II, which launched in 2023, accommodates 16 guests in some of the largest suites in the area, featuring expansive balconies and private hot tubs. Another recent addition, the Galapagos Angel, launched in 2024, is a carbon-neutral vessel that offers a private yacht experience with al fresco dining and a Jacuzzi.

AdventureSmith Explorations also caters to culinary enthusiasts. The Evolve, alongside its sister ships Origin and Theory, is hosting special epicurean sailings to celebrate the 70th anniversary of Relais & Châteaux. Additionally, a new Western Islands itinerary includes a visit to Montemar, a private tortoise sanctuary known for its coffee-tasting experiences.

Looking ahead, travelers can anticipate the arrival of the Hermes mega-catamaran in spring 2025. This 20-guest vessel will feature 24/7 butler service, a spa, and luxurious in-room amenities. Also debuting next spring are the newly refurbished 48-guest National Geographic Gemini and the 16-guest National Geographic Delfina (formerly Celebrity Xploration). Smith notes, “The Delfina catamaran is a notable new arrival, offering a unique blend of high-level educational experiences on a smaller ship. While there are many 16-passenger vessels, none provide the National Geographic touch that the Delfina now brings.”

With these exciting new options and exclusive experiences, there’s never been a better time to explore the Galápagos Islands with AdventureSmith Explorations.
