Disney Cruise Line’s New Ship Focuses on Villains
Disney Cruise Line’s upcoming ship, Disney Destiny, set to debut next year, will embrace a “heroes and villains” theme, with a special emphasis on Disney’s iconic villains.
Unveiled today as part of a three-day reveal, Disney Destiny will homeport at Port Everglades in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. The new ship will highlight the duality of Disney stories, featuring both heroic characters and their notorious adversaries.
Onboard experiences will include:
- De Vil’s Lounge: A stylish red, black, and white piano lounge inspired by Cruella de Vil from One Hundred and One Dalmatians.
- Cask and Cannon: A “Pirates of the Caribbean”-themed bar offering rum, sports, and pirate-style brews.
- Haunted Mansion Parlor: A cocktail bar inspired by the classic theme park attraction, debuting on Disney Treasure in December 2024 before arriving on Disney Destiny in 2025.
The ship will also feature the AquaMouse, Disney Cruise Line’s signature attraction at sea. The new storyline, “Sing a Silly Song,” includes an exclusive soundtrack by Emmy award-winning composer Christopher Willis and lyricist Elyse Willis. Guests will journey to the top of Villain Mountain with Mickey and Minnie, encountering villains like Queen of Hearts, Scar, and Chernabog along the way.
Additional villain-themed activities will include meet-and-greets, special appearances, dance parties, trivia, and shows featuring characters such as Maleficent, Hades, and Captain Hook.
Sharon Siskie, Senior Vice President and General Manager of Disney Cruise Line, said, “Disney Destiny celebrates the bold, charismatic villains who challenge our heroes and captivate audiences. We’re excited for guests to experience this unique theme and enjoy the spaces and entertainment designed to honor Disney’s iconic antagonists.”
