Disney to Launch New Ship in Japan in Collaboration with Oriental Land Company
Disney Cruise Line has announced plans to introduce a new ship in Japan by early 2029, expanding its fleet to nine vessels.
Operated in partnership with Oriental Land Company, the entity behind Tokyo Disneyland, the new ship will be constructed at the Meyer Werft shipyard in Papenburg, Germany. It will join as a sister ship to the Disney Wish.
Yumiko Takano, Representative Director, Chairperson, and CEO of Oriental Land Co., emphasized the integration of theme park expertise into cruise experiences, promising innovative family entertainment filled with inspiration and surprises.
The vessel, registered in Japan, will operate year-round and is expected to feature approximately 1,250 staterooms, powered by liquefied natural gas (LNG).
