Diversity initiatives aim to change the face of hospitality
Marriott, Nobu and the Ritz-Carlton are partnering with hospitality programs at schools like Howard University and Florida International University to offer educational and training opportunities in hopes of diversifying leadership in the industry. “I believe 100 percent that the face of leadership is going to change, but it’s never been forced like this before for hotels,” says Harsha L’Acqua, CEO and founder Saira Hospitality, a nonprofit involved in looking at hotel education and hiring practices.
