Dreams Playa Esmeralda Opens in Dominican Republic

Hyatt Hotels Corporation has officially opened Dreams Playa Esmeralda Resort & Spa, a new addition to its Inclusive Collection in the Dominican Republic. The beachfront property is designed as a family-friendly retreat with a strong focus on nature, offering expansive gardens, a secluded shoreline, and a dedicated waterpark.

The resort features 500 rooms and suites, including swim-out options. Guests who book the Preferred Club enjoy exclusive perks such as butler service, premium suite locations, and private lounge and pool access. Dining options are extensive, with ten restaurants and seven bars serving global cuisines, from authentic Dominican dishes at 1844 Dominican Cuisine to Mexican specialties at El Patio and South American classics at Tierra.

Adults also benefit from full access to the adjoining adults-only Secrets Playa Esmeralda Resort & Spa. The two properties are linked by the Public Square, a central hub offering dining, shopping, and social gathering spots.

For families, the resort provides two supervised kids’ clubs for ages 3 to 17, alongside daily entertainment, a family-friendly pool, spa, fitness center, and more than 15,000 square feet of event space.

General manager Ángel Medina emphasized the resort’s mission of blending Dominican hospitality with the all-inclusive convenience of the Dreams brand, creating a destination where families and multigenerational travelers can reconnect.

Located near natural attractions such as Montaña Redonda, Los Haitises National Park, Samaná Bay, and Salto La Jalda—the Caribbean’s tallest waterfall—the new resort positions itself as both a luxury retreat and a gateway to the region’s natural wonders.
