DV Aviation Acquires Part 135 Operator Basin Aviation in Texas

DV Aviation, a Part 91 aircraft management company, has acquired Basin Aviation, a Texas-based Part 135 and fixed-base operator (FBO) based at Midland Airpark. The acquisition strengthens DV Aviation’s footprint in West Texas and enables the company to offer both charter services and FBO operations at Midland Airpark.

Announced via social media, the deal adds Basin Aviation’s charter fleet to DV Aviation’s capabilities. The current fleet includes a Learjet 45XR, a Learjet 75, and two King Air B200 turboprops. This move comes as demand for regional charter operations continues to grow in Texas and the surrounding states.

In April 2025, Basin Aviation retired its only Learjet 40XR, N46MW, a 15.9-year-old jet previously configured for seven passengers. The aircraft was removed from Basin’s Part 135 certificate and relocated to Fayetteville Drake. Since March 6, it has been operating under the ‘DHR’ code for Jett Aircraft, flying routes such as Grand Cayman to Rogers. While the aircraft is active, it is not currently listed on a Part 135 certificate.

Jett Aircraft’s charter certificate includes a Learjet 45 and a Learjet 45XR, with the Learjet 40XR being its second of the type, though not Part 135-approved.

This latest acquisition follows DV Aviation’s November 2024 merger with Deer Horn Aviation, another Texas-based Part 135 operator. Deer Horn operates a single King Air B200 and is also based in Midland, further consolidating DV Aviation’s regional presence and expanding its service offerings in the state.
