Eastern European hospitality takes hit from war in Ukraine

The Russian invasion of Ukraine has sidelined what figured to be a robust recovery for the hotel business in Eastern European nations such as Poland, the Czech Republic and Slovakia. But while international visitor numbers have plummeted in those countries, studies show the lodging trade is stable in many parts of Europe and refugees have pushed up occupancy in some nations bordering Ukraine.
