EasyJet Expands Network with New Routes from Derry to Liverpool and Edinburgh
EasyJet is set to enhance connectivity for Northern Ireland as it introduces new routes from City of Derry Airport (LDY) to Liverpool and Edinburgh starting November 4th. These year-round services will operate twice weekly and will be exclusively serviced by easyJet’s fleet of Airbus A320-family aircraft. The addition of these routes aims to meet the growing demand for domestic connections between Northern Ireland and key UK cities, providing convenient travel options for both business and leisure travelers.
City of Derry Airport, already served by Loganair with flights to London Heathrow and Glasgow, and by Ryanair with routes to Birmingham and Manchester, welcomes easyJet as the third airline to establish scheduled services. Brenda Morgan, LDY’s head of business development, highlighted the strategic timing of the new flights—Fridays and Mondays—which cater well to business travel during the week and leisure getaways over the weekends.
Despite current offerings, LDY continues to prioritize establishing a connection to Dublin, recognizing it as a crucial link for further enhancing regional connectivity. The addition of easyJet’s routes underscores LDY’s commitment to expanding its network and supporting Northern Ireland’s air travel growth.
