EasyJet Explores Additional Aircraft Orders to Support Fleet Renewal and Growth
EasyJet, the London Luton-based low-cost carrier, is in the process of securing new delivery slots for its long-term fleet renewal and expansion plans beyond the aircraft it already has on order from Airbus.
The airline aims to add more firm order positions to its existing fleet plan, allowing it to replace older aircraft and accommodate future growth. In a quarterly stock market update, easyJet stated its intention to explore new options to bolster its fleet and meet increasing demand.
Currently, the carrier has firm orders for 160 aircraft, including 127 A320-200Ns and thirty-three A321-200NX, with scheduled deliveries through 2028.
However, despite these orders, EasyJet’s planned A320neo Family aircraft alone will not fully replace its existing fleet of A320ceo Family aircraft. The airline’s UK division operates fifty-eight A319-100s and seventy-five A320-200s, while its Europe division operates an additional thirty-eight A319s and seventy-six A320s, and EasyJet Switzerland operates twenty A320s.
By securing additional aircraft orders, EasyJet aims to bolster its fleet renewal strategy and meet its growth objectives effectively. The move comes as the airline continues to position itself for the future and strengthen its position in the competitive aviation market.
