Swiss leisure carrier Edelweiss Air is set to enhance its long-haul network with two new North American routes starting in summer 2025.

From June to September 2025, Edelweiss will introduce a twice-weekly service from Zurich to Seattle, and from July to early October, the airline will add flights to Halifax, Canada. Initially, these routes will be operated using Airbus A340-300s, with a transition to the airline’s new A350-900s later in the season.

Edelweiss has six A350-900s on order, with deliveries anticipated to begin in the second quarter of 2025. The first A350s are currently undergoing final preparations in Shannon, Ireland, in preparation for their debut.

The new A350s will initially serve short and medium-haul routes before being deployed on long-haul services. Las Vegas will be the first long-haul destination for the A350s in May 2025, followed by Vancouver starting in July. The third and fourth A350s are expected to join the fleet in October 2025 and winter 2025-26, with the final two arriving in the latter half of 2026.

The addition of Seattle and Halifax will expand Edelweiss’ North American network, complementing its existing U.S. destinations of Denver, Las Vegas, and Tampa, and Canadian destinations of Calgary and Vancouver. Currently, Seattle and Halifax do not have nonstop flights to Switzerland.
