In a significant move announced at the Dubai Airshow 2023, EgyptAir (MS, Cairo International) has inked a lease agreement with Air Lease Corporation (ALC) for eighteen B737-8s. The deliveries are scheduled to take place between 2025 and 2026, reinforcing the state-owned Egyptian carrier’s commitment to Boeing and expanding its modern fleet.

As of now, EgyptAir’s fleet includes twenty-nine B737-800s (including one freighter), six B777-300(ER)s, and seven B787-9s. The addition of the B737 MAX 8s further diversifies the airline’s portfolio and aligns with its strategic growth plans.

In addition to the Boeing aircraft, EgyptAir operates a diverse range of Airbus models, including twelve A220s, three A320-200s, eight A320neos, seven A321-200NXs, five A330-200s (including one freighter), and four A330-300s. Ownership data from ch-aviation fleets indicates that EgyptAir owns approximately half of its current fleet, with the remaining aircraft being leased.

This latest leasing agreement signifies EgyptAir’s commitment to modernizing its fleet and embracing fuel-efficient, state-of-the-art aircraft to enhance its operational capabilities and passenger experience.
