Egypt’s Air Cairo receives its first A320neo

Air Cairo has taken delivery of its first A320-200N which arrived on the 26 April, it’s the first of three due to join the fleet this year.

The aircraft, SU-BUK (msn 10152) was flown direct from Hamburg Finkenwerder to Cairo International. The aircraft is owned by ICBC Financial Leasing. The three aircraft will be dry-leased from GECAS. The aircraft is equipped with 186 seats in an all-economy-class layout.

The Ministry of Civil Aviation said in a statement the carrier was negotiating a further three A320neo. By 2024, its fleet is due to increase to nineteen Airbus narrowbody aircraft. Air Cairo is 60%-owned by EgyptAir, which, in turn, is a wholly state-owned company.

Besides the newly delivered A320neo, Air Cairo currently operates seven A320-200s, including four owned units and three dry-leased one each from ENT1AIRC, DAE Capital, and ICBC.
