Egypt’s Air Cairo takes delivery of maiden A320neo

Air Cairo (SM, Cairo Int’l) took delivery of its first A320-200N on April 26, 2021, the first of three it is poised to add in 2021. SU-BUK (msn 10152) was ferried directly from Hamburg Finkenwerder to Cairo Int’l. The aircraft is owned by ICBC Financial Leasing. According to the ch-aviation fleets advanced module, the other two A320-200Ns due for delivery by the end of 2021 will be dry-leased from GECAS. The aircraft is equipped with 186 seats in an all-economy-class layout. The Ministry of Civil Aviation said in a statement the carrier was negotiating a further three A320neo. By 2024, its fleet is due to increase to nineteen Airbus narrowbody aircraft. Air Cairo is 60%-owned by EgyptAir (MS, Cairo Int’l), which, in turn, is a wholly state-owned company. Besides the newly delivered A320neo, Air Cairo currently operates seven A320-200s, including four owned units and three dry-leased one each from ENT1AIRC, DAE Capital, and ICBC.
