Embraer secured several orders from airlines and lessors

During the Paris Air Show 2023, Embraer made a significant announcement, revealing that it has secured four orders for its commercial aircraft.

  1. American Airlines Orders Seven Embraer E175 Aircraft for Envoy Air: American Airlines, a major US-based carrier, has placed an order for seven Embraer E175 aircraft to bolster its regional operator, Envoy Air. This order will expand Envoy Air’s total fleet to 141 aircraft by the end of 2024. Deliveries of these regional aircraft are scheduled to begin in Q4 2023, with the order added to Embraer’s backlog starting from Q2 2023. The President and CEO of Envoy Air, Pedro Fabregas, expressed satisfaction with Embraer’s aircraft performance, which enables them to offer excellent service to American Airlines’ customers.
  2. Binter Orders Six More E195-E2 Aircraft: Binter, a Spain-based airline operating in the Canary Islands and the first European airline to fly the E195-E2, has placed an order for six additional aircraft of this type. This order will bring Binter’s E2 fleet to a total of 16 aircraft upon completion of deliveries, expected by mid-2024. Martyn Holmes, Embraer Commercial Aviation’s Chief Commercial Officer, praised Binter’s continued partnership and success.
  3. Avolon Adds E2 Jets to its Fleet Portfolio: Avolon, an aircraft lessor, has expanded its portfolio by acquiring E2 jets through a sale-and-leaseback transaction with Canada-based Porter Airlines. The transaction involved the sale and leaseback of 10 Embraer E195-E2 aircraft. Porter Airlines initiated jet operations in Canada with this aircraft type in February 2023, having placed orders for a total of 50 aircraft, with an option for 50 more from Embraer.
  4. Azorra Identified as Undisclosed Customer for 15 E195-E2 Aircraft: Embraer had previously announced that an undisclosed customer had ordered 15 E195-E2 aircraft in January 2023. Now, the aircraft lessor Azorra, based in Florida, US, has been revealed as the company behind the order. These 15 aircraft have been included in Embraer’s Q4 2022 backlog. Azorra’s President, Ron Baur, expressed satisfaction with the E2’s operating economics and engine performance, stating that it perfectly suits their airline customers’ needs. The order increases Azorra’s firm commitment with Embraer from 20 to 35 aircraft.

These orders demonstrate the growing popularity and confidence in Embraer’s commercial aircraft offerings, particularly the E195-E2, which promises enhanced fuel efficiency and reduced emissions. The company looks forward to fulfilling these orders and further strengthening its partnerships in the aviation industry.
