Embraer Targets 100 Annual Jet Deliveries by 2028

Embraer has set a goal of delivering 100 commercial jets annually by 2028 as it capitalizes on strong demand and a growing order backlog. CEO Francisco Gomes Neto said the Brazilian manufacturer expects to deliver between 77 and 85 aircraft this year, but supply chain constraints—particularly involving fuselage parts and engines—are preventing it from reaching the higher target sooner.

The company’s delivery outlook reflects rising interest in its E2 family of next-generation regional jets, which offer lower emissions, improved fuel efficiency and reduced operating costs compared to earlier models. Embraer’s ability to scale up production will be critical as airlines worldwide seek to renew fleets and tap into demand for smaller, more flexible aircraft capable of serving thinner routes.

Highlighting this momentum, Embraer recently secured a major order from U.S. low-cost carrier Avelo Airlines for 50 E195-E2 jets, marking the first U.S. order for the E2 model. The deal is seen as a breakthrough in the North American market, traditionally dominated by larger aircraft.

Industry analysts say Embraer’s target of 100 jets annually would restore it to pre-pandemic production levels and strengthen its competitive position against regional aircraft rivals. Meeting that goal will depend on overcoming persistent supply chain issues and ensuring timely deliveries of key components.

If successful, Embraer’s ramp-up will support its strategy to cement the E2 as the preferred aircraft for short- and medium-haul markets, offering airlines a modern, cost-effective solution to meet shifting passenger demand and environmental requirements.
