Emirates Brings A350 to Amman Two Weeks Early
Emirates has accelerated the introduction of its new Airbus A350 on the Dubai–Amman route, with the first commercial service arriving at Queen Alia International Airport on May 20, 2025. Originally slated to begin on June 1, the airline advanced the launch by two weeks to meet growing demand between the United Arab Emirates and Jordan. Flight EK 905 departed Dubai at 22:10 local time on May 19 and touched down in Amman at 00:15 on May 20. The return leg, EK 906, departed Amman at 02:05 and returned to Dubai by 06:05 the same morning, marking the start of a second daily service operated with the A350.
Since its inaugural flight to Amman in 1986, Emirates has maintained a strong presence in Jordan’s aviation market, expanding connectivity for business travelers, tourists and cargo operators. The addition of the A350 on the second daily rotation underscores the carrier’s commitment to enhancing linkages between Dubai and Amman, as well as providing Jordanian travelers with access to Emirates’ global network. Alongside the A380 service on EK 903/904, the A350 deployment increases seat capacity and offers new cabin comforts for passengers.
Emirates’ A350 features a three-class layout with 312 seats. Business Class comprises 32 lie-flat seats in a 1-2-1 configuration, ensuring direct aisle access for every guest. Premium Economy accounts for 21 seats arranged 2-3-2, delivering more legroom and enhanced dining options. The Economy cabin offers 259 seats in a 3-3-3 layout. Passengers will appreciate the A350’s taller ceilings, wider aisles and advanced noise-reduction technologies, which create a quieter environment and reduce fatigue on short- and medium-haul flights.
The airline has already deployed the A350 on six other short- and medium-haul sectors, including Edinburgh, Kuwait and Mumbai. Emirates plans to expand the aircraft’s reach to new markets such as Oslo, Istanbul and Ho Chi Minh City later this year. By the close of 2025, the carrier expects to operate its A350 fleet to 17 destinations worldwide, leveraging the aircraft’s fuel efficiency and lower carbon emissions to support sustainability objectives.
Queen Alia International Airport officials welcomed the early arrival of the A350 as a milestone in Jordan’s post-pandemic recovery. Airport management noted that the additional capacity and frequency will stimulate inbound tourism and facilitate trade, particularly in perishable goods and high-value exports. Hotels and tour operators in Amman and Petra are preparing to accommodate increased visitor numbers, while cargo handlers anticipate higher volumes of e-commerce and perishables traffic.
Emirates has tailored its onboard service for the A350 experience on the Dubai–Amman route. Business Class travelers can enjoy regional specialties alongside international cuisine, served in private suites with direct aisle access. Premium Economy passengers receive upgraded amenity kits and menu selections that rival traditional Business Class offerings. In Economy, a refreshed menu and personal seatback entertainment systems with on-demand movies and series aim to elevate the travel experience.
The introduction of the A350 also reflects Emirates’ broader fleet strategy, which balances the superjumbo A380 with modern twin-engine aircraft. The A350’s extended range and operational flexibility allow the airline to fine-tune capacity to market demand, optimizing load factors and maintaining frequency on high-traffic corridors. As Emirates integrates the A350 into its network, the carrier will benefit from the aircraft’s superior fuel efficiency, cutting per-seat fuel burn and reducing environmental impact.
With the A350 now serving Dubai–Amman twice daily, passengers gain more scheduling options and enhanced onboard comfort. The move demonstrates Emirates’ agility in responding to market needs and its dedication to strengthening ties between the UAE and Jordan. As service ramps up and the fleet grows, travelers can expect continued improvements in connectivity, reliability and sustainability on one of the region’s most important air links.
