Emirates Delays A350 Debut to November 2024, Updates Route Plans

Emirates has adjusted its schedule for the introduction of its first A350-900 aircraft, delaying its debut until November 4. Initially slated for a September 15 launch, the delay is attributed to delivery setbacks from Airbus.

According to The National, Emirates will inaugurate its A350 operations with daily flights to Edinburgh, replacing Bahrain International as the initial destination. An Emirates spokesperson highlighted the airline’s commitment to expediting the A350’s entry into service and minimizing any operational disruptions caused by the delay.

The updated rollout plan for Emirates’ A350-900 includes:

EK23: Dubai to Edinburgh starting November 4
EK837/839: Dubai to Bahrain starting November 15
EK853: Dubai to Kuwait starting November 15
EK502: Dubai to Mumbai International starting January 1, 2025
EK538: Dubai to Ahmedabad starting January 1
EK654: Dubai to Colombo International starting January 2
EK866: Dubai to Muscat starting March 1
EK93: Dubai to Bologna starting March 1

Emirates has a significant order of sixty-five A350-900s, with expectations to receive ten by the end of March 2025. The airline has not disclosed any changes to these delivery projections at this time.
