Emirates has announced an expansion of its extensive aircraft fleet modernization program, increasing the total number of aircraft being updated to 191, up from the initially planned 120. This upgrade involves 43 Airbus A380s and 28 Boeing 777s, all of which are being outfitted with the latest cabin products to enhance the passenger experience significantly.

Sir Tim Clark, President of Emirates Airline, highlighted the significance of this expansion, stating, “We are increasing our multi-billion dollar investment in the conversion program to equip even more of our A380s and Boeing 777s with state-of-the-art cabin products. This is an important step to ensure even more passengers can experience our premium products.” The upgrades are part of Emirates’ commitment to providing a first-class travel experience across its fleet.

The modernization work is being conducted at Emirates’ own Engineering Centre and includes a comprehensive overhaul of the interiors. Key enhancements include the renovation of the first-class cabin, the introduction of new business class seats, and the installation of premium economy seats. The conversion process for each Boeing 777 aircraft takes about two weeks, underscoring the airline’s efficiency in executing such extensive updates.

By February 2025, Emirates aims to serve a total of 42 destinations with aircraft featuring the new Premium Economy class. This upgrade is not only about enhancing comfort but also about expanding the airline’s route network with the newly renovated aircraft. This includes operating Airbus A380 flights to Osaka and adding Boeing 777s equipped with Premium Economy to additional routes.

This strategic expansion of Emirates’ modernization program underscores the airline’s ongoing commitment to maintaining a leading edge in aviation hospitality, ensuring that it continues to offer an unparalleled travel experience to its customers worldwide.
