Emirates Launches Retro-Fitted Boeing 777 with Business Class and Premium Economy
Emirates has made history by introducing its newly-retrofitted Boeing 777 fleet to King Khalid International Airport (RUH) in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, marking the first capital city in the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) region to receive this upgraded service. The refurbished aircraft features an all-new Business Class cabin and the highly sought-after Premium Economy seats, significantly enhancing the travel experience for passengers.
The updated Emirates Boeing 777 offers a luxurious four-class configuration, including 24 Premium Economy seats arranged in a 2-4-2 layout. These seats are designed for comfort, featuring 6-way adjustable headrests that provide added support and space. In addition, the improved Business Class cabin includes 38 seats arranged in a spacious 1-2-1 configuration, ensuring all passengers enjoy direct aisle access. This configuration enhances privacy, allowing travelers to enjoy their journey without disturbance. The Business Class features also include a mini-bar and multiple charging ports, catering to the needs of modern travelers.
For those seeking the ultimate travel experience, the aircraft also boasts six First Class suites, providing exclusive privacy and luxury. Additionally, there are 256 Economy Class seats equipped with leather headrests that can be adjusted vertically, enhancing overall comfort for all passengers.
Emirates operates flights from Dubai International Airport (DXB) to Riyadh on this refurbished B777, following a convenient schedule. Flight EK 819 departs Dubai at 07:10 local time and arrives in Riyadh at 08:05 local time. Conversely, flight EK 820 departs Riyadh at 09:40 local time, arriving back in Dubai at 12:35 local time. This schedule is designed to accommodate both business and leisure travelers, ensuring flexibility in travel plans.
Currently, Emirates operates a total of 72 weekly flights to various destinations in Saudi Arabia, including three daily flights to Riyadh. The airline uses a mixed fleet of Boeing 777s and Airbus A380s, allowing for a diverse range of services tailored to passenger needs.
Looking ahead, Emirates plans to expand its Premium Economy product, aiming to offer this enhanced travel experience on flights to 27 cities by the end of 2024. This will be facilitated across a fleet of 48 Boeing 777, A380, and A350 aircraft, making it one of the most accessible premium travel options available in the region.
