Airlines are engaging more and more in NUE’s winter and are filling a leisure capacity gap that has been present in the past. In the coming W23, the leisure segment will see several additional flights and new destinations.

Following winter 2022, when leisure capacity in the NUE market was on a significantly lower level compared to long-term average, several airlines have now announced additional commitment and to offer more leisure routes from NUE in W23. This is a first step to fill the leisure route gap that has opened up at NUE over the past year.

Eurowings will base one aircraft in NUE in the winter and operate routes to HRG (three times a week), RMF (once a week), LPA (twice a week) and PMI (one to four times a week). This is a considerable development from a pure PMI-service this summer.

Condor, which currently also offers only PMI from NUE, will additionally serve HRG (four times weekly) and TFS (twice weekly) in W23.

Corendon Airlines, Nuremberg’s resilient base carrier, continues to operate a wide range of attractive leisure destinations (ACE, FUE, HRG, LPA, RMF, TFS and AYT) during coming winter, as well.

A brand new destination, which has never been operated before from NUE airport and is now featured in W23, is AUH, operated by Smartwings exclusively for Etihad Holidays. Three times a week, the airline will connect Franconia to the UAE.

This development in the leisure sector is welcomed by the residents of Nuremberg and the metropolitan region. They are very keen to travel and love their sun&beach offer and have been expressing their desire to be able to travel more frequently from their home airport. Nevertheless, the team at NUE is aware that there is still room for expansion in the leisure sector and is continuously working to provide a wide range of offers to their joint customers.
