Italian energy giant ENI Group has retired its only Gulfstream G280, previously used for corporate travel, according to ch-aviation research. The jet was operated by Servizi Aerei, ENI’s subsidiary that holds an Italian Air Operator’s Certificate (AOC).

The aircraft, registered as I-SEAV (msn 2214), was 4.4 years old and active under Servizi Aerei’s “SNM” code until November 11, 2024. Its last flight under ENI ownership was from Rome Ciampino to Basel/Mulhouse/Freiburg, CH. Following a test flight on December 20, it was deregistered in Italy in early 2025 and re-registered in the United States as N235U on January 7, though it has yet to enter service under its new registration.

ENI Group’s corporate fleet now exclusively comprises Gulfstream G650ERs, with three units averaging three years in age. The latest addition to the fleet, a new G650ER, joined in November 2024, aligning with the G280’s retirement.

The decision to streamline the fleet reflects ENI’s focus on advanced, ultra-long-range jets like the G650ER, which provide enhanced range, efficiency, and luxury for corporate travel. This move underscores the group’s commitment to maintaining a modern, high-performing fleet to support its global operations.

With the G650ERs, ENI is better positioned to meet its corporate mobility needs while ensuring operational efficiency and passenger comfort on long-haul routes. The transition further cements ENI’s emphasis on leveraging state-of-the-art aviation technology.
