Etihad Airways Achieves 35% Growth in Customer Numbers in January 2024
Etihad Airways has announced a significant 35% increase in customer numbers in January 2024 compared to the same period last year, signaling robust growth for the airline. The carrier hosted over 1.4 million guests and reported an average load factor of 86.04% for the month, underscoring its status as one of the fastest-growing airlines globally.
CEO Antonoaldo Neves highlighted the airline’s expansion, noting that Etihad operated flights to five additional destinations in January 2024 than in January 2023. This expansion is part of Etihad’s strategy to cater to rising customer demand by increasing flight frequencies to key destinations. For the Summer 2024 schedule, Etihad has boosted its weekly departures by almost 27% compared to the previous summer.
The year began with Etihad introducing daily flights from Abu Dhabi to Kozhikode and Thiruvananthapuram in India’s Kerala region, increasing the airline’s presence in India to 10 gateways. Neves expressed pride in welcoming 1.4 million guests to Abu Dhabi’s new Zayed International Airport and looked forward to showcasing the new facility and the Etihad onboard experience to more international travelers as the airline continues to expand its network and flight frequencies throughout 2024.
