This week marks a significant milestone for Etihad Airways as it embraces the delivery of three Boeing 787-9 Dreamliners. The national carrier of the UAE proudly received these state-of-the-art aircraft at Abu Dhabi Zayed International Airport, signaling a robust expansion phase in its ambitious growth trajectory.

Scheduled to commence operations this month, these new additions play a pivotal role in Etihad’s strategic plan to operate flights to 125 destinations with a fleet exceeding 160 aircraft by 2030. Antonoaldo Neves, CEO of Etihad Airways, expressed enthusiasm for the Dreamliners’ arrival, highlighting their importance in supporting the airline’s expansion and commitment to offering enhanced connectivity and service quality. “Their arrival is key to our network expansion strategy and comes at the perfect time as we continue to add multiple new destinations and expand frequencies into key markets,” Neves stated.

With the incorporation of these Boeing 787-9s, Etihad now operates a total of 43 Dreamliners, making up a diverse fleet of 88 aircraft that includes the Airbus A380, A350, A320 family, and Boeing 777. This strategic fleet enhancement aligns with Etihad’s commitment to promoting Abu Dhabi as a premier travel destination and a pivotal hub for international travelers, whether visiting the capital of the UAE or transiting through its expanding global network.
