Etihad Airways Marks One Year at Terminal A at Abu Dhabi’s Zayed Airport
Etihad Airways is celebrating its one-year milestone at Terminal A in Abu Dhabi’s Zayed International Airport (AUH), marking significant growth in its operations. Since completing its full relocation from Terminal 3 in November 2023, the airline has seen its weekly flights rise from 1,336 to 1,732, demonstrating a strong surge in capacity and operational efficiency.
The transition began in October 2023, with Etihad’s first flight from Terminal A departing to New Delhi on October 31, 2023. The flight was operated on an Airbus A350-1000, carrying 359 passengers, and set the tone for the airline’s continued success at the state-of-the-art terminal.
Etihad Airways CEO Antonoaldo Neves praised the new terminal’s role in the airline’s growth. “In just one year, Terminal A has transformed the travel experience for our guests and supported Etihad’s ambitious growth plans,” Neves said. “This world-class facility has enabled us to enhance our service standards significantly, offering greater comfort and convenience while strengthening Abu Dhabi’s position as a global aviation hub.”
As Etihad expands its network and fleet, Terminal A provides a prime platform for the airline’s future growth. The terminal is designed to accommodate increased passenger traffic and enhanced service offerings, aligning with Etihad’s strategy for long-term success.
Terminal A also features several luxury amenities, including Etihad’s exclusive premium lounge, which spans three floors and includes the Liwan Global Dining restaurant. The Constellation Bar is a standout feature, showcasing a 25-meter glass lighting sculpture that depicts the Abu Dhabi skyline. For relaxation, the Be Relax Spa offers complimentary treatments for First Class and Residence passengers, while all travelers can enjoy its services.
A notable development in the past year was the relocation of the US Customs and Border Protection (CBP) facility to Terminal A. This move enhances the passenger experience and positions Abu Dhabi as the only airport in the region with US preclearance, allowing passengers traveling to the United States to complete their customs processes before departing.
Etihad Airways’ expansion at Terminal A marks a significant chapter in the airline’s history, providing passengers with enhanced comfort, world-class facilities, and a seamless travel experience as it continues to grow its global network.
