Etihad Airways Marks Record Month for Aircraft Deliveries

Etihad Airways has recorded the busiest month for aircraft deliveries in its 22-year history, receiving five new aircraft in July 2025. The additions include the airline’s first Airbus A321LR, two Boeing 787 Dreamliners, one Airbus A350-1000, and one Airbus A320ceo, marking a major step in its fleet expansion strategy.
The milestone supports Etihad’s goal of carrying 38 million passengers annually by 2030, boosting capacity across its growing global network. CEO Antonoaldo Neves called the month “remarkable,” noting the deliveries will allow the airline to serve more destinations, increase frequencies, and enhance guest experiences.
The new aircraft align with Etihad’s fleet modernisation plans. The Boeing 787 Dreamliners will strengthen long-haul services to Asia, Australia, and North America, while the Airbus A350-1000 will serve high-demand routes. The A321LR introduces a new standard for narrowbody travel in the region, offering First Suites, lie-flat Business Class seats, and upgraded Economy seating with individual entertainment screens.
These additions bring Etihad’s total fleet to 106 aircraft, one of the youngest globally with an average age of 8.7 years. The airline has also seen record passenger growth, carrying over 20 million travellers in the past 12 months—double its 2022 total.
The fleet expansion complements Etihad’s network growth, which includes 27 new destinations and increased frequencies on existing routes. The airline expects to take delivery of around 20 more aircraft annually through 2026, further cementing Abu Dhabi’s role as a major global aviation hub while delivering premium travel experiences worldwide.
