Etihad Airways has taken delivery of its latest Airbus A350‑1000, marking the sixth addition of this model to its fleet, as the carrier continues to modernize and enhance its long‑haul services. The new aircraft arrived over the weekend of April 12‑13, 2025, following a delivery flight from Airbus’s assembly plant in Toulouse, France. Representing one of the youngest and most fuel‑efficient widebodies in commercial aviation, the A350‑1000 will play a central role in Etihad’s strategy to improve passenger comfort, operational efficiency and environmental performance.

Since entering service with Etihad, the A350‑1000 has become a staple on routes departing from Abu Dhabi’s Zayed International Airport, linking the United Arab Emirates with key global markets. Current destinations served by the A350‑1000 include Chicago O’Hare, Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International, Zurich’s Kloten Airport, Mumbai International, Paris Charles de Gaulle, Tokyo Narita and Toronto Pearson. Later this summer, the aircraft will be deployed on routes to Hartsfield‑Jackson Atlanta International, opening Etihad’s sixth North American gateway and significantly reducing travel times for passengers connecting through Abu Dhabi.

Passengers traveling in Etihad’s A350‑1000 benefit from award‑winning cabin designs. The business class suite features full‑height privacy doors, seats that convert into fully flat beds, 18.5‑inch touchscreens at every station and wireless charging ports seamlessly integrated into armrests. Travelers in the Economy SMART SEAT cabin experience a step up from traditional seating, with ergonomically designed headrests, adjustable lumbar support, increased legroom and generous recline. Each economy seat is equipped with a 13‑inch touchscreen, Bluetooth pairing, built‑in headset sockets, USB‑C charging ports and a secure device holder, catering to the needs of modern travelers.

Etihad’s continued investment in the A350‑1000 aligns with its commitment to sustainability and reducing the environmental impact of aviation. The aircraft’s advanced aerodynamics, carbon‑composite fuselage and Rolls‑Royce Trent XWB engines deliver up to 25 percent lower fuel burn and CO₂ emissions per seat compared to previous‑generation widebodies. Noise footprints are also dramatically reduced—by as much as 50 percent—helping Etihad meet stringent airport noise regulations and improve community relations around its hub.

In addition to operational and ecological advantages, the A350‑1000 supports Etihad’s broader network expansion plans. By standardizing on a modern, fuel‑efficient fleet, the airline can optimize maintenance schedules, simplify crew training and negotiate favorable terms with suppliers. The sixth A350‑1000 enriches Etihad’s capacity during peak travel seasons, enabling more frequent services and enhanced connectivity across Europe, Asia and North America.

Etihad’s CEO expressed enthusiasm for the new delivery, noting that each A350‑1000 reinforces the airline’s commitment to exceptional service and future‑proof operations. As the aircraft enters revenue service on major international routes, customers can expect consistently high standards of cabin cleanliness, digital amenities and personalized hospitality that have become hallmarks of the carrier’s premium product.

With this latest A350‑1000 now part of its fleet, Etihad Airways is well positioned to meet growing passenger demand, strengthen its competitive edge on intercontinental routes and uphold its environmental targets. As global travel rebounds to pre‑pandemic levels and beyond, the A350‑1000 will remain at the heart of Etihad’s efforts to deliver a more sustainable, comfortable and efficient flying experience.
