Eurowings is adding seven new routes from Hamburg
Lufthansa’s low-cost subsidiary Eurowings has now added seven new routes from its primary operating base, Hamburg. The routes added are in lieu of the upcoming summer season which caters to holidaymakers looking to make leisure trips around Europe.
April onwards, Hamburg will have increased connectivity to the rest of Europe
Five of these routes will begin operating during April, with Spain, Italy, Sweden and Portugal all having increased connectivity as the world collectively makes a highly anticipated recovery from the coronavirus pandemic and its consequent losses.
On April 4, Eurowings will start the first of five April routes to Bilbao, which will run twice a week on Monday and Friday. Verona in Italy will get a similar service frequency beginning April 15, whereas Gothenburg’s Landvetter Airport will see four visits per week from Eurowings from Hamburg International Airport commencing April 29.
April 30 onwards, a second Italian destination, Crete, and Portugal’s capital Lisbon will also benefit from biweekly operations. May 1 and May 7 will see Porto and Alicante get added to the Eurowings network, once more operating twice a week.
Besides these additions, there will also be an additional service to Palma de Mallorca, which will take the daily number of flights to Spain’s island destination to seven.
Once all the seven destinations are operational, Eurowings will start operating to 63 different airports from its German base, Hamburg, at close to 90% of pre-pandemic levels, according to Routesonline.
