EVIO has officially launched with the unveiling of the EVIO 810, a hybrid-electric regional aircraft backed by Boeing and Pratt & Whitney Canada. The new aircraft is designed to serve short- and medium-haul regional routes and is targeted to enter commercial service in the early 2030s.

The EVIO 810 is positioned as a lower-emissions alternative to aging regional aircraft fleets, combining conventional propulsion with electric assistance to improve fuel efficiency and reduce carbon output. According to the company, the hybrid-electric design is intended to deliver meaningful reductions in operating costs while maintaining the performance and range required by regional airlines.

EVIO said it has already secured pre-orders and options for a total of 450 aircraft, signaling early market interest from operators seeking more sustainable fleet solutions. Chief executive officer Michael Derman said the EVIO 810 aims to strike a balance between near-term technological feasibility and long-term environmental goals, offering a practical pathway to cleaner regional aviation.

Backed by two of the aerospace industry’s most influential players, EVIO plans to focus on certification, industrialization, and partnerships over the coming years as it works toward bringing the EVIO 810 to market.
