Exoticca, a digital platform for multi-day tours, has secured €25 million in funding to enhance its AI-powered travel technology and expand its global footprint. The venture debt facility, provided by BBVA Spark, builds on Exoticca’s recent €60 million Series D round led by Quadrille Capital.

The new funding will accelerate the development of Exoticca’s proprietary AI platform, which optimizes trip planning by integrating travel components, personalizing recommendations, automating itinerary creation, and refining pricing strategies.

“Our technology connects all services of a complex trip, offering a seamless online booking experience while delivering unique travel experiences at competitive prices,” said Exoticca CEO Pere Vallès. He emphasized that the funding provides additional flexibility to innovate and expand, particularly in North America, which accounts for over 75% of the company’s business.

BBVA Spark’s Head of Spain, Miguel Ángel Alcalá, praised Exoticca’s success in digitizing multi-day travel planning, highlighting the company’s ability to scale internationally. This follows BBVA Spark’s prior €4 million investment.

Exoticca has seen continuous funding growth, raising €20 million in 2022, €30 million in 2021, and €5 million in 2020. Vallès previously stated at Phocuswright Europe that the company aims to grow annual sales from €200 million in 2023 to €300 million.

With its AI-driven platform and expanded investment, Exoticca is set to further revolutionize digital multi-day tour bookings, offering travelers personalized and seamless experiences.
