Fall fun and Halloween events around the Orlando area
Whether you enjoy the scariest thrills or just the decorative fall overlay, there’s plenty to keep you and your family entertained this Halloween season in Orlando. The Theme Park Capital of the World is host to numerous events from spooky park events and family-friendly fun to extra scary encounters and themed hotel packages.
Halloween Horror Nights – Universal Orlando Resort
Universal Orlando is celebrating its 30th anniversary of the fan-favorite Halloween Horror Nights. Decked out with ten of some of the scariest haunted houses, five creepy Scare Zones, live entertainment and more, Halloween Horror Nights is a can’t miss event for those who love a good fright. The event is currently open on select nights until October 31st.
Disney After Hours Boo Bash – Magic Kingdom at Walt Disney World
For a more family-friendly event, Magic Kingdom is hosting the Disney After Hours Boo Bash on select nights until Halloween night. This specially-ticketed event gives guests access to the park with many attractions remaining open at a limited capacity as well as not-so-spooky themed mini parades, characters decked out in their Halloween costumes, exclusive food offerings and more.
Howl-O-Scream – SeaWorld Orlando
Now through October 31st, guests at SeaWorld can be frightened with its own set of haunted houses and scare zones at the Howl-O-Scream event. Occurring on select nights after 7 p.m., SeaWorld even has special vacation packages for those who want to stay immersed in the scary Halloween spirit.
SeaWorld Spooktacular – SeaWorld Orlando
During the day at SeaWorld, the theme park offers a family-friendly Halloween atmosphere at their SeaWorld Spooktacular. Come dressed as your favorite character as kids of all ages make their way down a candy trail, see colorfully decorated pumpkins, meet a mermaid or enjoy encounters with your favorite Sesame Street characters.
Brick or Treat
On select days in October, LEGOLAND Florida is celebrating Halloween with special character appearances, trick-or-treat stations, themed culinary offerings and even a celebratory firework show. Brick or Treat is included with the price of regular admission.
Gators, Ghosts and Goblins – Gatorland
On weekends from October 9th – 31st, guests at Gatorland will get to enjoy “Gators, Ghosts, and Goblins”. This family-friendly event welcomes guests with uniquely themed shows, roaming monsters and even an Octoberfest Pavilion for those of age.
Goblins & Giggles package – Gaylord Palms Resort & Convention Center
For those that want to stay in the fright fest, the Gaylord Palms Resort & Convention Center is offering guests the Goblins & Giggles package which features family-friendly encounters, a scavenger hunt and even a chance to meet some spooky animals from Wild Florida.
Extra Spooky Experiences
For those who want to experience the exceptionally scary one of these venues is for you:
– American Ghost Adventures downtown is taking visitors on a haunted pub tour “Spirits with Spirits” which highlights paranormal experiences in the area.
– Known as one of the “Scariest Haunted Houses in America”, Mortem Manor Haunted Attraction at Old Town gives guests a scare by actually being buried alive. Decked out with almost lifelike animatronics, you may just get confused about who’s alive and who isn’t.
– At Scream n’ Stream Drive-Thru Halloween Experience at Boggy Creek Airboat Adventures, visitors can stay in their car as they drive-thru a riveting outdoor theater that is sure to keep you on the edge of your seat.
The World’s Most Magical Celebration – Walt Disney World’s 50th Anniversary Celebration
We’d be amiss if we left out The World’s Most Magical Celebration at Walt Disney World. Although not a Halloween or fall-themed event, this 18-month celebration kicks off on October 1st in celebration of the park’s 50th anniversary. There’s sure to be plenty of entertainment and even a new nighttime spectacular kicking off the event.
EPCOT’s International Food & Wine Festival
EPCOT is also playing host to its annual International Food & Wine Festival. A fan-favorite, there are all-new food booths that have recently opened featuring marketplaces like The Noodle Exchange, Tangierine Café, Kenya, Lobster Landing, and Mac & Eats.
