Fate uncertain as Boston’s largest hotel changes hands

The new owner of Boston’s largest hotel has indicated that a non-hotel use such as housing might be in the coronavirus-battered property’s future. Varde Capital and Hawkins Way Capital closed this week on a $233 million purchase of the 1,220-room Sheraton Boston from Host Hotels & Resorts, which offered it for sale last summer after reopening it from a lengthy pandemic shutdown.
