FDH Aero has strengthened its partnership with Commercial Aircraft Corporation of China by signing a strategic cooperation agreement and a long-term contract with its subsidiary, Shanghai Aircraft Manufacturing Company, to support the development of the COMAC C919 program.

Already one of a limited number of authorized distributors supplying the C919, FDH will now expand its role beyond traditional hardware distribution. Under the new agreements, the company will provide a wider portfolio of technology, engineering, and supply chain management services directly to COMAC and SAMC.

The multi-commodity contract covers the supply of aerospace hardware, electrical components, and chemical products, in addition to engineering management support and other value-added services designed to enhance supply chain resilience. By integrating technical expertise with logistics and sourcing capabilities, FDH aims to support production efficiency and long-term program stability.

The C919 is China’s domestically developed narrowbody jet, positioned to compete in the global single-aisle market segment. The aircraft has reportedly accumulated more than 1,000 orders, reflecting its growing importance within China’s aviation strategy and its ambition to establish a competitive alternative to established Western manufacturers.

FDH Aero executives said the partnership aligns with the company’s global strategy to deliver localized support to major aerospace customers. The agreement also reinforces FDH’s continued investment in the Asia-Pacific region. The company began expanding its footprint in the region during the COVID-19 pandemic and has since established offices and stocking operations in Shanghai, Singapore, Guangzhou, and other key aerospace hubs.

As production rates increase for the C919, strengthening supplier integration and technical support will be critical to sustaining output and meeting delivery targets. The expanded collaboration positions FDH Aero as a deeper strategic partner in one of the most closely watched commercial aircraft programs in the world, supporting China’s efforts to build a more self-reliant aerospace supply chain while maintaining global supplier engagement.
